high. This time it took us almost 4000 man hours to emulate
the little beast!

A: No and No! Nevertheless it will perfectly work as a 32bit
application on a 64bit OS like Windows7.

Yesterday we released Steinberg Cubase v5.1.1.UPDATE. Unfortunately this
release contained a major bug on startup in both the StudioManager and
also with VST3 plug-ins on some Windows Vista/Seven operating systems.

A: No - we only got a blowjob per day!

A: The amount of time to analyze and reverse the current
syncrosoft implementation was just that high. Think about it
like this: around 25% of the program code is MCFACT protected
and therefore protection-related. As you can imagine the
effort to analyze and reverse such a target is incredibly
high. This time it took us almost 4000 man hours to emulate
the little beast!

Sofern die anderen nichts am Grundupload von Air rumgewerkelt haben (wird wohl keiner gemacht haben), sollten alle hier angebotenen 5er-Versionen problemlos auf 7 laufen. Habe bislang jedenfalls noch nichts gegenteiliges gehört. natürlich kann es immer mal sein, dass es nicht läuft, weil vorher irgendwelche andere Software aufgespielt wurde, die sich nicht mit Cubase verträgt, oder dass ein bestimmtes rechnersetup Probleme macht. Aber das wären dann Detailfragen. Zum Laufen, solltest Du es bekommen.
Sollte beim Starten eine Fehlermeldung auftauchen, einfach auf Ignorieren klicken. Dabei handelt es sich um Querelen mit Diskettenlaufwerken und Cardreadern (keine Ahnung,ob das unter 7 überhaupt auftaucht)
1. 5.1.2 ist der korrekte Titel des Updates. Es liegt chronologisch nach der Veröffentlicheung von 5.1.1. In eben dieses 5.1.1 hatte sich seitens Steinberg ein Fehler eingeschlichen. Der Fix folgte im 5.1.2 Patch, das Programm ist aber trotzdem 5.1.1 (Steinberg wird/müsste sich etwas dabei gedacht haben, oder auch nicht). Das hättest Du aber auch selber mit einem kurzen Besuch auf Steinberg .de rausfinden können.
2. Die Nachricht darfst Du einfach ignorieren, daher gehe ich da jetzt nicht näher drauf ein.

Ganz einfach. Du gehst in dein Cubase-Verzeichnis und benennst den VST-Ordner um. "VST-Ordner2" oder sowas.
Wenn du nun Cubase startest müsste wieder alles funktionieren, allerdings hast du keine PlugIns mehr. Nun erstellst du wieder im Cubase-Verzeichnis einen Ordner, der den Namen des originalen Ordners trägt, also "VST-Plugins". Anschließend kopierst du immer einzelne Plugins von dem umbenannten Ordner (VST-Plugins2) in den neu erstellten (VST-Plugins). Zwischendurch startest du Cubase immer wieder mal um zu sehen, ob es immer noch Probleme gibt. Das machst du so lange, bis du das Plugin gefunden hast, welches für den Fehler verantwortlich ist. Dieses musst du dann löschen oder neu installieren.
Je nachdem wo du deine Plugins gespeichert hast kann der Name des VST-Ordners anders sein. Die Schritte bleiben aber die Gleichen...

Das stimmt nicht!
Cubase erkennt nicht immer fehlerhafte Plugins. Das Problem ist bei mir schon in zwei Projekten aufgetreten. Einmal war Melodyne schuld und einmal Guitar Rig. Das Projekt ging dann nicht mehr zu öffnen und ich musste mit der Ausschlußvariante rausfinden welches Plugin für den Absturz verantwortlich ist. Allerdings hat Cubase immer gestartet. Das Problem trat dann erst mit dem Projekt auf, wo auch das Plugin im Insert war...
Wenns aber so wäre, wie du sagst, dann hätte das Plugin schon beim Start deaktiviert werden müssen und das Plugin hätte nach dem Öffnen des Projektes dann gefehlt. So wars aber nicht. ;-)
Für Abstürze von 3rd-Party-PlugIns kann Steinberg schließliech nichts.
Gerade wenn auch noch cracks mit im Spiel sind, kann man ewig nach Ursachen forschen. Am besten ist immer das Ausschlussverfahren - solange ein Plugin nach dem anderen aus dem VST Ordner löschen, bis das Projekt wieder stabil läuft. Und gegebenfalls das verantwortlich Plugins ersetzen/updaten.

Die AiR version ist ein 32-bit only Release. Sollte es unter 64-bit (egal, welches OS) klappen, so ist das einen Glückwunsch wert und kann im Einzelfall nicht ausgeschlossen werden.
Dennoch: Diese Version ist für 32-bit Systeme optimiert. Ein 64-bit Release wird es zudem (jedenfalls nicht von AiR, dem einzig verbliebenen, dazu fähigen, Team) nicht geben.
