Encore 4.5.3 - January 2003 (with current update)

Yippee! At last a new version of Encore that is fully Windows9x/Me/XP compatible - and doesn't crash when text/lyric editing under WindowsXP!

Score files produced by this version are NOT readable in earlier versions (v4.2, 4.2.1 and 4.5) of this program. However, scores produced by such older versions of Encore ARE readable in this version.

Encore 4.5.3 serial:

Username = Enter any Username you want

Serial Number = 1-B142307328-212 (This number is only needed to unlock the installer program.)

Note:

If you have an existing Encore 4.2.x or 4.5 installation and wish to retain the existing setups, you can copy the following files from its Encore folder into the new Encore 4.5.3 folder created by this installation:

"Enc_tool.ini" - this file defines where the various toolboxes are placed on the screen
"Encore.ini" - this files defines your MIDI setup, fonts and several other selections
"Expressi.ini" - this file defines the various expressions available in the Expressions pallete

In the "Devices" folder, the "Devices.ini" file and any added "DevXX.ini" files can also be transferred.

I had problems with transferring my old "Template.enc" file from version 4.5 to version 4.53 and ended up recreating a new one for my new installation. If present in the main program folder, the "Template.enc" file defines the default score layout displayed as the program loads.

By default, this program installs to "C:\Program Files\Encore 4.5.3 and so will not overwrite any older installtion you may have. It is suggested you confirm the new installation works OK and transfer any of the *.ini files mentioned above before uninstalling the older version.
