DreamSuite unterstützt die Dateiformate .psd, .tif, .bmp, .jpg und .png. SmartLayer ermöglicht es, mit verschiedenen Bildbearbeitungsebenen in einem Dokument zu arbeiten, vorgenommene Änderungen können dabei unbegrenzt rückgängig gemacht werden.

Mit Masking Layer kann schnell und genau der Bildbereich markiert werden, auf den die gewünschten Effekte angewendet werden sollen.

Der Correction Layer-Modus erlaubt die Abstimmung von Farbdetails, um die Farbenbalance zu optimieren.

Im Effect Layer kann man unterschiedlichste Effekte miteinander kombinieren oder zur Verbesserung der Bildqualität die Funktion FilmGrain anwenden.

Im Photo Layer-Modus kann man neue Bilder hinzufügen oder als Collage zusammensetzen.

Verschiedene Schichten können überlagert, einzelne Schichten vervielfacht oder gelöscht werden und es lässt sich die Durchsichtigkeit der einzelnen Schicht einstellen. Help on Demand: Zeigt man mit dem Mauszeiger kurz auf das entsprechende Objekt, öffnet sich ein Hilfe-Fenster mit den notwendigen Informationen.

DreamSuite Gel Series ist ein vollwertiges Bildbearbeitungsprogramm. Die im Programmpaket enthaltene Plugin-Version bietet die Möglichkeit, ein bereits genutztes, mit DreamSuite kompatibles Bildbearbeitungsprogramm, um die vielfältigen Funktionen von DreamSuite Gel zu erweitern.
