Let's see if I can't figure out how 'they' are managing to report even encrypted links on here.


I have to sincerely apologize for PMDG's malware with their installers (It can kill previous installations of PMDG products and sometimes FSX itself). I had no idea they would stoop so low with the 'extension' product, but now I don't put anything past them.

I suspect the fix is to install valid licenses for each PMDG add-on, INSTEAD of using the PMDGoptions.dll crack. Also, PMDG patches will sometimes search for cracked FSX files (that bypass the online validation of FSX itself). Thus, if you have a cracked version of a PMDG product and/or a cracked version of FSX itself, PMDG updates and patches act as malware. Gee, thanks PMDG.

Let me test my theory and post some workarounds guys. Again, I apologize for this mess, but I can assure you that this is the ORIGINAL PMDG installer. PMDG themselves are to blame for this kind of nonsense. PLEASE ALWAYS BACK UP YOUR COMPLETE FSX FOLDER BEFORE INSTALLING ANY PMDG PATCH OR UPDATE. This way you can easily copy everything back in the case a PMDG installer goes postal like this.

Installation Method:
1. XP system:
a. Open the "System Disk: \ Windows \ System32 \ drivers \ etc \" directory (eg C: \ Windows \ System32 \ drivers \ etc \)
b. Right-click "hosts" file, click Properties, and remove the "read only" in front of Gou Gou. (<-- No idea what Gou Gou is but just ignore that).
c. Open the hosts file using Notepad
d. In the last line, add "113.105.152.25 www.precisionmanuals.com" the text inside the quotation marks.
(I also added "113.105.152.25 precisionmanuals.com" as well).
e. Save and close Notepad.

a. Click Start, type notepad.
b. out of notepad.exe in the top right-click and select "Run as Administrator."
c. Click File - Open, enter the "system tray: \ Windows \ System32 \ drivers \ etc \" directory (eg C: \ Windows \ System32 \ drivers \ etc \).
d. Click the lower right corner of the "Text Document (*. txt)", select "All Files (*.*)"
e. Open the hosts file.
f. In the last line, add "113.105.152.25 www.precisionmanuals.com" the text inside the quotation marks.
g. Save and close Notepad.


2. Run PMDG747-400X-8i Expansion Pack.exe.

3. Open EnableButton.exe (if it is VISTA/WIN7 system, right-click it and select Run as administrator.)

4. All the way Next, enter the serial number that interface, the point of the next step will be a pop-up titled "Security Alert" in frame, be sure to point, otherwise can not continue!

5. Installed, and into the game let's see it

6. After the installation is complete, be sure to re-execute step 1, simply delete the line you added.

I didn't add anything to the screen requesting your name and order number, I just used the Enabler to make Next active and pressed it.

Don't forget to remove the entry from your hosts file.

The security alert they mention is Windows letting you know their Certificate is not current.

It all worked for me, my SHA1 number never got changed, it added the 8i/F into the Aircraft.cfg, all displays still work. I have done 2 flights with it and everything works.

It installs a new 747-8 and 400 Config manager with a shortcut on your desktop which you use to setup if you're going to fly the 400 or the 800 and it changes the Aircraft.cfg so the mains and nose wheel are placed in the correct position for each aircraft.

I've not installed a livery yet but as they've done all their checks with the installer I think it should be fine.
