So nachdem ich nun gsehen habe das ich im Jänner ein paar pm's bekommen habe wegn diesem thread (ja im jänner---und jetzt erst gesehen---schande über mich) werd ich mich natürlich wieder um diesen thread kümmern.
DENN anscheinend gibts da draußen ja noch a paar geile Typen die den Thread wieder Leben eingehaucht haben

Memento nannte Bernd Zangerl eine seine schwersten Boulderkreationen. Der Nomen wurde zum Omen, denn auf den Boulder folgte der Film.
Ein halbes Jahr lange drehten der Kärntner Filmemacher Gerald Salmina und Bernd Zangerl, unterstützt von vielen Helfern, an „Memento“. Der Film zeigt Bernd Zangerl, Barbara Zangerl und Thomas „Steini“ Steinbrugger beim Bouldern im Magic Wood, in der Silvretta und im Tessin. Den Filmautoren ging es dabei vor allem darum, die Beweggründe und Abläufe beim Bouldern darzustellen.
Herausgekommen ist ein Film, der sich von den üblichen action-geladenen Boulderstreifen durch eine große innere Ruhe abhebt. Oft bouldert Bernd ganz alleine, gelegentlich in der Gruppe oder mit Barbara Zangerl. Alle Kommentare und Erläuterungen zu seinem Tun kommen von Bernd selbst, der so einen Einblick in die Hintergründe seiner Boulderbesessenheit gibt.
Dass der ganze Film von einem Filmemacher auf 16-Millimeter-Zelluloid und nicht auf einer Digicam gedreht wurde, sieht man ihm an. Wohl noch nie hat man so schöne, detailreiche Boulderaufnahmen gesehen. Eine Augenweide.

The Sharp End, the latest release from Sender Films, takes the average viewer out of his climbing comfort zone as it focuses on climbers pushing both their physical limits and their safety. The DVD highlights a variety of areas including California’s Yosemite Valley, Colorado’s Frontrange, the French Alps and the Czech Republic.
While some have suggested that the The Sharp End focuses too extensively on BASE jumping, the DVD divides its time nicely between traditional and aid climbing, bouldering and free soloing reminding viewers that there is no clear definition for the term from which the title is derived. The DVD, which runs approximately 60 minutes, begins rather expectedly with traditional climbing. The backdrop for the first lesson in living on the sharp end is none other than Colorado’s Frontrange. Time is also spent in other common U.S. climbing havens as well. These include Moab, Bishop, and Yosemite Valley.
Perhaps less predictable was the segment where Alex Honnold, Cedar Wright and Matt Segal tried out the local climbing techniques of the Czech Republic – think long run outs that basically leave climbers free soloing, knotted ropes as pro and absolutely no chalk. Accompanying this was a brief stint at tower jumping on the part of Cedar Wright; not the most exciting element of the DVD, but an excellent reminder of the desire climbers often have to push themselves at whatever they set their minds to.
The Sharp End makes a great addition to any climber’s climbing movie collection, and even comes with a family-friendly edited version for those who don’t want to hear any bad language. It is a unique film and an excellent reminder that nothing in the climbing world is finite; there are always new ways to push (and exceed) the limits of what seems accomplishable

Joe Simpson, whose amazing battle for survival featured in the multi-award winning Touching the Void, travels to the treacherous NorthFace of the Eiger to tell the story of one of mountaineering's most epic tragedies. As a child, it was this story and that of one of the climbers in particular, that first captured Simpson's imagination and inspired him to take up mountaineering.
Toni Kurz was a brilliant young mountaineer, who along with three other climbers tried to climb the mountain in 1936, which was then the last great unconquered peak in the Alps.
Their assault on the mountain started well, but then disaster struck and one by one Kurz's colleagues were killed leaving him alone, hanging on the end of a rope fighting for his life in the most horrific of circumstances. Over 50 years later in Peru, Kurz's story haunted Simpson as he battled for his own survival while hanging in mid-air. His plight uncannily mirrored that of Kurz - except against all the odds, Simpson lived whilst his hero had perished.
